This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of STIs, including HIV, neisseria gonorrhea, chlamydia trachomatis and treponema pallidum, among FSWs in the Terai highway areas of Nepal from the east to the far west. The study also determines the prevalence of HIV and treponema pallidum among truckers operating on the eastern highway routes of Nepal. The data from this study has been compared with data from a similar baseline study conducted in 16 Terai highway districts in 1999.
