Our Mission & Values

New ERA’s vision and mission is to undertake research to provide an independent Nepali perspective on the formulation, implementation and assessment of development policies and programs by using a wide range of quantitative and qualitative methods to provide accurate and grounded field-level information about Nepal.

New ERA and its staff are guided by a set of values and principles

• New ERA is non-sectarian, adhering to equity principles in terms of colour, region, religion, caste, creed, race, political orientation, sex and sexual orientation.
• New ERA believes in the participation and empowerment of people – both those with whom it works in the field and its own staff.
• New ERA recognizes that each staff member is different and must be respected for the uniqueness of that difference.
• At New ERA gender equity is a core value to be integrated strategically in every project and at all levels.

• New ERA promotes decentralization, for which there is to be the devolution and transfer of appropriate levels of authority and responsibility to appropriate nearest point or level of consequence.
