Behavioral Sentinel Surveillance (BSS) Survey in the Highway Route of Nepal: 3rd Round

2001

This third round of BSS was conducted to systematically measure and monitor HIV risk behavior trends among sex workers and several male sub-population groups (e.g. male transport workers, laborers and students) along highway routes in eastern, central and western development regions, covering 16 districts of Nepal. The study notes some changes in risk behavior such as an increase in condom use suggesting that condom and AIDS related messages are reaching the target groups.
