The primary purpose of the Population Perspective Plan (PPP) is to provide a vision for the future of population management including the broad goals to be achieving; and to identify gaps and lapses in existing policy in relation to population planning. The PPP focuses on the major policy requirements to achieve population goals and prioritises of plan of action. The PPP will be a guideline for future periodic plans and provide a framework for the allocation of resources. The PPP is a step towards the formulation of a national action programme to help achieve the broad objectives of population management. The PPP aims to guide the formulation of population policies. The PPP also provides a basis for the effective institutional arrangements for the coordination, implementation and monitoring of population programmes.
