New ERA is Nepal’s first non-government, non-profit research organization founded in Nepal in 1971. Our goal is to provide an independent Nepali perspective in the design, implementation and assessment of development policies and programs by employing a wide range of quantitative, qualitative, and PRA methodologies.
New ERA has always operated as a non-profit but finally registered as a non-profit company only after Nepal’s corporate laws were amended to recognize non-profits. New ERA reinvests all its operational income into upgrading the organization and supporting and conducting further research to implement development projects aimed at alleviating rural poverty.
