<p>A new study by GoodWeave International and New ERA explores how climate change is fueling the risks of child and forced labor in Nepal’s carpet and brick industries. Based on interviews with more than 1,000 people across eight climate-vulnerable districts, the report shows that droughts, floods, pest outbreaks, and other climate shocks are forcing families often including children into dangerous work as a way to survive.</p><p>The findings are striking: 35% of workers and parents said climate impacts influenced their decision to migrate for jobs. Food insecurity, mounting debt, and the loss of farmland were identified as key pressures driving&nbsp;this&nbsp;choice.</p>
